Landing Tray Square

CNC machined solid wood tray

This is a raised square tray that captures the moment a tablecloth lands on a table. The tray seems to “land” gently above a solid base, with the geometry of the block revealed at the centre.

The rim is shaped from ellipse segements, continuing the studio’s formal language, while the base is a superellipse (n=3), generating a quietly complex geometry. It comes in black painted red oak, and black walnut.
